Background

Derbyshire Schools Enterprise Network is part of the national S’EEN Network. The Schools’ Enterprise Education Network (S'EEN) is a network of business & enterprise colleges providing Enterprise support and CPD for all secondary schools in England. There are 51 hub schools, more than 160 spoke schools, and 5 national network hubs.

In Derbyshire five partners have come together to provide the support for schools in the country:

• New Mills School Business & Enterprise College

• Wilshorpe Business & Enterprise College

• Derbyshire Education Business Partnership

• The Bolsover School

• Holbrook Centre for Autism

For the year 2006-7, the main support available, all totally free to all Secondary and Special Schools is as follows:

1. 3 Training days on Enterprise

2. Individualised Support for Every School
Funded by the S’EEN Network, all schools are entitled, and encouraged to take up an individualised package of support from the DEBP. Click for more information.

3. This Website. All schools are encouraged to use, and provide, examples of good practice in Enterprise for others in the county to share

4. Any other Support
Any school wishing to talk to staff from the above three organisations, or to visit is more than welcome.

We hope that we will be able to bring together people from every school in Derbyshire so that we can all share our experiences and ensure that all students benefit from an Enterprising education within the county.
