Dragon's Den at New Mills School

As part of their contribution to New Mills School’s newly attained Business & Enterprise College status, the business studies department have set up a dragon’s den group. The group is available to students from years 8 to 11 that may be finding the curriculum challenging. They work in pairs to design a product and marketing strategy, before attempting to secure funds from the panel of financial investors, known as the dragons. The teams are working hard to come up with innovative ideas and are being quite secretive with the details! Year 13 business studies students have been drafted in to be the dragons and it promises to be an exciting event. This kind of activity is extremely beneficial and will help improve enterprise skills such as organisation, innovation, team work, decision making, selling, application of number, communication, financial literacy and ICT skills. For more information, contact the Head of Business Studies, Mel Lawson.
